1 – What is your earliest memory of music in your life?

I can’t really recall my earliest memories in music, but with the recent passing of Glenn Campbell, I was reminded by my Dad that as a youngster I used to sing the same line from ‘The Rhinestone Cowboy’ over and over… and over! I guess I am mostly known for my love of Metal, Prog, Tech Metal and the like, but I grew up with bands like Queen – so I am a huge John Deacon fan.

2 – What album influenced you or your style the most?

I suppose John’s playing was a huge influence on my own, but who can deny the likes of Billy Sheehan, Steve Harris, Dave Ellefson but for me even Dil Katz, Mick Karn and …well, the names go on. If I have to narrow it down to one album? Can I cheat? It has to be Queen (Live) at Wembley 1986. As a kid, I learned to play every song back to back, even the mistakes! I learned so much about bass guitar watching the original TV broadcast then subsequent DVD releases.

3 – What piece or performance are you most proud of to date?

I would love to tell you about a forthcoming album release which I am so proud to have been involved with, but alas I am not allowed to share the details yet. So, for now it will have to be The Book Of Gates by EON, of which I am the bassist. The album features some truly incredible musicians, the current release also has a bonus EP that I played on too.
