Availability: made to order, up to 14 days "After years of experimenting with many different brands, gauges and tensions, I fell into the habit of alternating between gauge 12-59’s and 13-62’s strings. I found that string companies which allow you to purchase custom hand-made strings are extremely rare, and this is just one of the many reasons why I love Newtone Strings, and why I will never go back to mass-produced strings. I use gauge 12-59 strings when practicing, as this allows me to perform for longer periods of time whilst preventing injury (I’ve suffered from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in the past so I have to be quite careful). During live and studio performances I tend to switch to gauge 13’s so I can achieve a fuller sound. The low E and A string are thicker than your standard 12-52/ 13-56 strings. This creates a warm, powerful, bassy tone, and when combined with the round core, reduces the top end frequencies and adds more mid-range to the strings. This creates a very distinctive tone, which is much nicer than your average steel-string guitar sound." Available in the following gauges:

Northlane Signature Multi-scale Bass Strings

Availability: made to order, up to 14 days. Designed with Alex Milovic for his Dingwall basses and played by Northlane's new bassist Brendon Padjasek. They are constructed of Hex cores with Stainless Wrapping, featuring taper windings over the bridge on the thickest 3 strings. 'The hardest part about playing extremely drop tuned music as a bass player is finding the right bass strings for the job. Not only do they have to be heavy enough to handle the tuning's but also long enough to string a multi-scale bass. This for me has been my biggest quest and challenge over many years until finding Newtone. The AMDF & AMDG# encompass everything i need in a set of strings for both tunings used with Northlane. Not only are the string gauges perfect and the lengths of string are tailored specifically for a multi scaled instrument but the stainless steel retains the brightness needed to cut through the mix.' They are super-heavy, especially for low tunings. I tune my guitar a tone below concert pitch, and quite often much lower than that. This brings out a warmth and character completely different to the usual twangy steel-string guitar tone. Or maybe if your voice has dropped in pitch over time, these strings could be the answer to your prayers! Michael Messer Signature Guitar Strings

Michael Messer worked with us on designing a series of strings specifically for Resonator guitars. These strings are designed to have perfect when playing in regular or open tunings. At first sight, these gauges seem very heavy indeed. By utilising a principle used in the 1920's that having a round central core rather than a more modern Hexagonal equivalent. Greater string life and easier playability can be achieved. All guitars sound better with heavier strings, the problem is playing them! Michael Messer National guitar strings tune to pitch at lower tension than other guitar strings of the same gauge. If you are gong to play in high tunings like E or A, it is advisable to use our light gauge set. Available in Phosphor Bronze, Monel or Nickel Plated Steel wrapping material (listed from warmest tone to brightest)
